High 10 Causes of Work Accidents Costing $ 58 Billion: Report – Enterprise Insurance

According to the Liberty Mutual Workplace Safety Index 2021, published on Wednesday, the top 10 causes of work-related accidents with the most disabilities cost $ 58.6 billion in medical costs and lost wages annually in 2018.

The insurer found that the top five causes of accidents at work cost $ 40.5 billion, which the index breaks down by type: overexertion from external sources or handling an object costs $ 13.3 billion; Falls to the same level cost $ 10.6 billion; drops to lower levels costing $ 6.26 billion; hit by an object or equipment cost $ 5.6 billion; and "other" exertion or physical reactions cost $ 4.7 billion.
